Unfortunately, Mr. Schiff is talking to clueless idiots who wouldn't know what the meaning of "work ethic" is if it hit 'em in the face.
These are the same DOLTS who voted for Obama, so you KNOW that they don't understand! Mr. Schiff verbally stopped that broad in her tracks a couple of times with his logical arguments! THESE PEOPLE WANT HAND OUTS!! It's as simple as that. And no amount of common sense, fact based statistics will ever change their minds! Lets hope for record snow fall and low temps! Ciao baby.
I don't know why you think Schiff "lays the stupidity of these people bare for all to see."
I give him credit for having the courage to confront the OWS protesters, and he is certainly a polished debater when he is up against street urchins, but he doesn't prove his point or "lay bare" anything in this clip. There are thousands of Wall Street "quants" who are slippery enough to enrich themselves by packaging junk in complex financial instruments and passing it off to hapless buyers-- pension funds, governments, institutional investors-- thereby picking the pockets of millions of people and causing human misery on a massive scale. In that light, his boasts that he "employs 150 people" in doing it, or that he "pays back 50% in taxes" is really meaningless.
In earlier generations, regulators would rein in the worst abuses of capitalism, but there is no longer a traffic cop capable of doing that, both because lobbying and campaign finance have neutralized the regulators, and because global financial networks hover above the boundaries (and laws) of any one government.
I'm glad Mr. Schiff's debating prowess helps you feel better, but his is really a pretty superficial spin on a complex situation. Eventually those street people are going to get tired of losing debates and turn violent. This generation of capitalists will ruin the form of capitalism envisioned by Adam Smith and Hayek.
