A Letter To The Editor

I received this letter from Liberty 2010 on Friday. As many of you know, she was the Fundraising Director for John Dennis, the man who ran against Nancy Pelosi. She wanted to share a few thoughts which I thought you might find interesting:

Dear Chuck,

Post election I look at California, New York and Massachusetts (Barney Frank was re-elected - SERIOUSLY?) and wonder exactly how dumb are these people. They vote for more of the same failed policies and politicians that have accelerated the problems we already had in this country (ie: government spending and manipulation of the markets via picking winners and losers and writing tax policy to do so, letting lobbyists run the country and the control of our money by the Federal Reserve.).

John Dennis went down to expected defeat, but worse than we thought it would be. Not a single Republican in SF cracked 25%... That tells you everything about where I live - the belly of the beast is not a joke. There is no common sense and entitlement is a mindset that has become multigenerational here. I wish I could pick up and move but due to personal circumstances I cannot.

I am so happy about the Rubio win - I think he is one of the bright stars of the Republican party moving forward. Other positives that are particularly pleasing are that Feingold got knocked out of his seat and we took Obama's old seat as well. I pray the recounts in Alaska and a possible special run-off will put Joe Miller in and get rid of Lisa Murkowski. Go Rand Paul! Mr. Sestack - good riddance to you. I love reading the bs coming out of DC about why the Dems took such a beating. Maybe we lost because we didn't put enough electric vehicles on the road, we didn't get our message out, it's Rahm's fault...  I love it.

I am still in post election recovery mode. Tired, numb and wondering if I will ever be able to muster the kind of effort I put forth this last 15 months for anything like this again. I know I need to stay the course for my kids and all of us but what happened here on a state level is beyond comprehension for me today. California is going down and I am stuck here to circle the drain with the morons that pushed the handle down.

Thank God the rest of the country has some sense - I just LOVE looking at the beautiful red map with just specs of blue here and there. It is fun trying to pick exactly where I'll land when they stop picking up garbage and there is anarchy in the streets here in California and the thing that ties me here will unravel.

Please keep up the wonderful blogging. You truly helped sustain me with the humor pieces, the highlighting of the positives and skewering the socialist idiots. And your followers with their commentary, Georgia Dawg and Horsebutt most notably often had me in stitches.

You can share my thoughts with anyone on the board you like.

Warm regards,

Liberty 2010

Kudos to you Liberty for effort. And just think, with all the time you put into the campaign, you still found the time to redesign my logo. Awesome!

Amen, Liberty! And thank you, Chuck, for posting.

I am here in California, and have been warning my employees that if you think hard times are here now, 'you ain't seen nothin yet'.... What blows me away is that we'd have the common sense to shoot down a proposition legalizing maryjane, but then loose it by bringing back Govenor Moonbeam. Proof that drugs do impare your memory.

My prayers are that a 10.0 earthquake hits this state, separates it at the state line (well, take Las Vegas with it), and sinks it FAR off the continent so as to save the rest of the Republic from the Stupd Virus. If I be part of the collateral damage, so be it. Either way, from environmental or economic means, this state, once called the Golden State, will be renamed to the Turd State and flushed away.

In the meantime - HOORAY for the rest of the country that got it right. While you are building that much-needed fence along the southern border, string some constatina wire along ours - you don't want to catch what we have....

Carry on, Chuck!

Thank you for your effort Liberty. Your dedication and passion are to be commended. It is because of people like you that we were able to take back the House.

God bless!

I too, cannot believe that the same IDIOTS, Boxer, Peelosi, moonbeam, etc... were, once again, elected in a state that is BANKRUPT and will only get worse! It makes you scratch your head... California, far as I'm concerned, gets what they deserve! It's too bad I've got family and friends there. :(

Liberty,

I know you feel you took a beating of a dead horse, but our friend you are a winner in
our eyes and here in the South we call that "Southern Pride" and you posses all those
qualities we believe in.....God and Country, family and friends are the backbone of our
country and you have every reason to feel proud of yourself for your effort, and again
i say well done.......

Never give up, never give in, just keep pounding that dead stone and one day we will
together crack that puppy and forge foward and a better tomorrow....

God Bless You Liberty2010. While schlubs like me go to work each day and enjoy the blog over a beer, you're actually out there on the front lines fighting for the ideas and freedoms we passionately believe in. Keep fighting the good fight and know there are big numbers of people behind you.

I live here in the belly of the beast (California), and I will never stop fighting them. Ever.
I welcome this fight of a lifetime, one which I will ensure they know in the end they lose.

Liberty,

Your dilemma makes me recall the words of Rudyard Kipling's classic.."IF"

If you can keep your head while those around you,
are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
Then you are probably a conservative,
living in California, My son!

Thank you Horsebutt - but actually I cannot be called Son - I am a single Mom of two beautiful girls, small business owner, homeowner, taxpayer, gun owner, children go to Catholic school - don't drink, don't smoke, don't do drugs unless prescribed by my doctor - I do regularly exceed the speed limit and unlady like as it is I have been known to drop the occasional f-bomb but not in front of my girls...

Thank you one and all for your warm messages of support. I truly believe that there is a silver lining in the California results. Mass. California and NY shall stand out bright and clear as continuing failures in the face of recovery elsewhere and it will only be the fault of the failed policies of liberals. This will only be clear proof of the utter failure of letting the unions and special interests run the show in our state capital and hopefully ensure even those in a Obama-zombie coma will wake up.

For years we have seen trends begin in California and then spread to the rest of the country. If the "peaceful revolution" we saw evidence of last week is strong enough to endure, Cal. will be forced to follow.

The next two years will test the will of "we the people" to govern ourselves more than it has been tested in 150 years. Even the liberals who were elected or re-elected last week have to see that the country can't survive the kind of leadership they have provided in the past. Even the most dedicated of captains won't go down with the ship if he can save the ship by changing directions. (That last line was good wasn't it? Krauthammer, you have my permission to use it, just spell Horsebutt correctly in the footnote.)

P.S. Liberty 2010, I knew you were female. I was afraid Kipling's work wouldn't be recognized without the familiar ending. Thank you for your hard work and your vision of America's culture as it SHOULD be.

<3 you Horsebutt - Krauthammer would do well to co-opt your line!
